Press release: VASIA welcomes First Australia Support, as an Official member

Melbourne, Australia – The Vietnam–Australia Startup and Innovation Association (VASIA) is pleased to announce that Ms. Hau Phan, Founder of First Australia Support, has officially joined the Association as a member.

Her membership marks another important step in strengthening VASIA’s growing network of entrepreneurs, professionals, and community leaders who are committed to fostering innovation, education, workforce development, and community engagement between Vietnam and Australia.

As the Founder of FirstAustralia Support, Ms. Hau Phan has built extensive experience across the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), construction, and retail sectors. Through her work, she has actively supported the Vietnamese community by creating employment opportunities, mentoring young professionals, and helping international students navigate their career pathways in Australia.

Recently, Ms. Hau Phan participated as a guest speaker at VASIA’s Career Development and Industry Insights Session for Vietnamese international students in Sunshine, Melbourne. During the event, she shared practical industry knowledge and valuable career guidance, particularly regarding opportunities within the rapidly growing disability support and community care sector.

Australia’s NDIS industry is projected to require more than 100,000 additional workers in the coming years, making it one of the country’s fastest-growing employment sectors. This presents significant opportunities for international students and members of the Vietnamese community who are seeking meaningful and sustainable career pathways.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Hau Phan shared an inspiring message with students:

“This industry does not simply need people looking for a job; it needs people with compassion, responsibility, and a genuine desire to support others.

Don’t wait until you feel ‘good enough’ before you start.

Start now, and you will become better along the way.

As early as your second or third year of university, you can begin volunteering or take on entry-level support worker roles to gain valuable real-world experience.

In this sector, practical experience often carries far greater value than theory alone.

I hope today’s conversation has planted a small seed in someone’s future journey.”

VASIA highly values Ms. Hau Phan’s contributions to community development and workforce empowerment. Her experience and commitment to social impact align strongly with the Association’s mission of supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, and professional development within the Vietnamese-Australian community.

The Association looks forward to working closely with Ms. Hau Phan and FirstAustralia Support on future initiatives that connect businesses, educational institutions, industry leaders, and emerging talent across Australia and Vietnam.

Through its expanding membership network, VASIA continues to strengthen its role as a bridge between the two nations, promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, education, trade, investment, and community collaboration.
